PROSPECTUS OF THE SCHOOL OF PROPHETS

Founding Statement

The School of Prophets (South Africa) was established by Apostle Dr Phume in October 2007. Phume is the founder and senior leader of the House of Joy church with offices in Soweto, Johannesburg. The motivation for the establishment of the School is equipping of believers that is mandated in the gospel commission that Jesus announced in Matthew 28: 18 – 20.

Aims of the School of Prophets

  1. To equip believers with relevant knowledge for roles as prophets and leaders in the edification of the body of Christ;
  2. To promote the regular study and understanding of the Word of God in local churches;
  3. To provide opportunity for Christian believers to grow and mature in grade and service;
  4. To enrich God’s people with gifts and skills necessary for effective witness in the twenty-first century;
  5. To encourage and help saints to discover their gifts.

Biblical Statement of Mandate

“Now, therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of god; and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone; in whom all the building fitly framed together growth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.” Ephesians 2: 19, 20.
